1920x1080 75hz?

Hi Guys,

I've been looking into getting a new monitor, but anyone know why full HD for monitor's doesn't go to 75hz? 60hz surely would mean a blurry image?

Can anyone recommend a 24inch+ screen that does please? cheers

Why would it be a blurry image? I thought most LCD monitors were 60hz?

Afaik they are almost all 60Hz with a few newer more costly 120Hz now appearing. 60Hz is fine for me no blurring no eye strain and correct me if wrong but 60Hz on an LCD is not the same as on a CRT...

Indeed, LCD panels work in a very different way to CRT. 60Hz is absolutely fine for most games, unless you're an ultra competitive online gamer who needs those extra frames. If you enable vsync, everything will be nice and smooth, no tearing etc as long as your PC can keep up 60fps. The refresh rate sholdn't cause any blurring, that would be a function of the response time, which on a typical new monitor is around 5ms, though I wouldn't buy one now unless it was 2ms (G2G), as my 2.5 year old monitor is 2ms already. Though really, it's pretty hard to tell the difference.

anyone know which ones have the best screens? Is it sumsung? to be honest I was thinking of getting LG W2753V-PF, 27 inch.

If you're not buying a high end panel, all the TN (twisted nematic) LCD monitors are much of a muchness nowadays. Sure, some are better, but no clear class leaders any more. If you like a screen, it's got a decent resolution and favorable reviews, just go for it.

I think I'm right in saying that 75hz is typically only available over VGA rather than DVI/HDMI, chances are most of these new monitors don't have VGA.

If you want a new monitor at over 60hz then I would recommend looking at 120hz ones.
