*** Forza Motorsport 3 - OcUK Drivers Championship 2010 ***

Got into the 1:58's, but would feel better on slicks.

Although i like slicks, i very much like the standard tyres too. I feel theres a lot more skill needed with standard tyres, knowing if you power out too early you're going sideways. Likewise if you brake too late, you're not turning.

Standard tyres for this type of competition is ace imo! :)

Perhaps a compromise with sport tyres?

I think most are waiting to be placed in a team
where as I have performed a aggreassive takeover of team kamakase drivers lol

Quite liking the car, feels a bit too loose for a series racer, gagging for better tyres and/or aero, but its drivable, its fun, but loose as hell on corners such as corner 1 on Maple Valley, should be very interesting! :D

I'm up for this :D I'll see if I can get Psymonkee in on it too, he can be my team mate so that we can both be utterly hopeless together :p

Maybe there should be a sub league for people with pads/no tuning or driving skill? :o

Managed to get it down to 1:59 within a couple laps, not really played about with the tune too much.
Turns in how i want it which has surprised me, but something needs doing about the rear end in some of the corners methinks. Saying that i've never actually found a decent tune for this car.

As its Saturday and I am at work and most of you are probably not I suggest all of you putting a time in on Laguna Seca using the BMW for the championship at stock, no upgrades. What I will do is then use your times to place you into the teams. Top 8 heading the teams and the bottom 8 placed as team drivers if you get my drift. So each team with have a good and 'bad':p driver in it. Then all being well the teams will be finalised tonight and you can all get finishing off the cars. I will try to keep the drivers that are in teams already in those respective teams as some of you have designed a paint job but if not I do apologise:) I will try my best.

I will hopefull keep track of this thread on my breaks via my iPhone through out the day.:)

I'll bang in a time sometime after lunch, but it'll be with my 4 year old around so I won't have time for loads of runs. My time will reflect the carrying of a passenger!

Having had a read through, I'm confused :D

RuMp3l4$k1n and I would love to join as team Pasty Smashers if its still available? Generally hes a faster driver than me, so we're not both higher or lower ability, but would definitely be up for it!

What are the actual tuning rules? As there's been a lot of stuff mentioned already! :D

Cheers!

Tim is right most of the time im averagely fast and he is plain slow, I understand though if you want to seed the racers and sort the teams out that way. I will stick down some times on the sugessted Laguna Seca and maybe some of the ring TT you have going.

Looking forward to racing.

My test run at Laguna Seca... I appear to be the first, so no idea how good this is, but I was only top 24% on the leaderboard, so I guess it's not up to much, unless the lack of upgrades and tuning really makes a lot of difference. Here goes...

Name : vonhelmet1982
Control method : controller
Assists used : no assists, manual gears without clutch, braking line
Tuning carried out : front 32, rear 28 (need to play around a lot with this)
Time : 1:42.763 clean and certified

I could cut it down by maybe a couple of seconds, if I got to grips with some of the corners properly. The first hairpin, for example, can be taken really nicely if you get the speed and gears right, but more often than not I go wide. Then I'll sometimes take the corkscrew brilliantly and come out really neatly, but other times I'll totally bottle it and drop my speed massively before I even crest the hill before it, and that really slows you down. And if my time is clean then I always, but always, take the last corner like a girl for fear of overshooting and voiding the time!

The car is good. It handles well for a rear wheel drive - the back end is quite forgiving. It could get a bit rowdy when you upgrade it, but hopefully tuning will take care of that, and if push comes to shove I'll just stick on TCS.

Put in a 1:38.943 for now, may push for more later.

My only worry is this car being upgraded into A class with Sim damage turned on, I can see people losing the rear very easily as it is fruity even at stock. The grid will be a very nervous place to sit!

Not a bad car being honest, should make for some fun races I think :)
