OcUK COMPLETE WATERCOOLING BUNDLE

This is a very good marketing idea, im quite afraid of watercooling for many reasons but i think when done with a bundle and pictures shown of it set up, it could really ease the fear of possible customers, i must say i am quite tempted myself. Maybe you can include a few watercooling bundles.

All the components you have chosen are of a considerable less quality. The brands we use EK and Thermochill are among the best watercooling component manufacturers. OCZ waterblocks and Phobya pumps just aren't going to cut it in the long run.

How close would this be in temps if using the XSPC DDC 18w Ultra Pump/Reservoir over 10w pump, with 2x Akasa AK-FN059 120mm Ultra Quiet Viper Cool Fans, with push and pull, compared to a Noctua NH-D14 ?

Depends what system you are running on it (i3/i5/i7 etc) and what size rad you choose.

Assuming you have an i7 and a single rad, the temperatures will be around 10c lower, also it will look at damn site better! But thats just personal preference. In our tests we found the NH-D14 to be worse than most of the other high end air coolers, it is probably on par with an Akasa Nero just quieter(and larger!).

Back to your Silverstone qeustion, my bad I thought you meant the FT-01, On the FT-02, you can either mod the bootom fans for a triple/quad rad setup or go for a Single rad setup on the top fan.

It's a i7 setup. as it will have 1 x 5970 & 1 x 5870, moding the 3 fans at the bottom worries me, as i dont want hot air going over the card.
so looks like a single rad.
so a single rad will keep my chip down by 10c less then the NH-D14, even if clocked @ 4.2 ? so instead of it running at 82c say, it will be 72c :D?

So have you compared this in tests then ?
would it be better to get the 18v pump over the 10v pump. ?
is that Thermochill PA120 rad the best single rad to get ?

Having the rad in the bottom doesn't mean the air will be blowing over the cards as you can have the fans extracting air from the case and blowing out, which is just as effective.

The Thermochill single rad is the best single rad out there but for i7 @ 4.2 you are really pushing it to its limits. I would recommend a triple over the single as you would get considerably lower temps (60c load).

The 18w will help flow rate over the 10w as fluid will be pushed into the rad and cooled quicker also it gives you a bit more headroom if you wish to upgrade in the future (GPU, Chipset blocks) as it will have the flow rate to cool all those components effectively.

I have seen a few Raven 2 cases with a bottom rad installed (same layout as yours).

The guide comes with the kit yes with colour photos and step by step instructions of how to do everything.

Just had a messure up and i can install a triple rad, but my 5970 will hit.
Can only install a single rad at the bottm right hand side grrrr.
so thats water cooling out :(. i went for this case as it has the window on the right hand side. oh well, guess we can't have it all in life :p

I take it a single rad with push and pull, pull and push, whatever u call it lol(sucking air in, then pushing out towards the top) be pointles then.?

you said the Noctua NH-D14 wasn't the best cooler you tested, what was? i read so many reviews it's the best air cooler on the market ?

I suppose, but OCZ and XSPC don't by any means make unreliable products. They certainly would 'cut it in the long run', considering i've still got a Zalman ZM-WB3 Gold going strong here. As for the pump, i wasn't sure about it but are you saying that you're stocking unsatisfactory products?

Fair enough, but it's not exactly like 'if you don't but the top end products it will break'.

Hasn't the Megahalem been beaten by several other coolers by now?

In terms if compatibilty, ease of installation, performance and looks it is unbeatable.

There are many that come very close performance wise it's all personal preference at the end of the day.
 
Surely that's a matter of opinion?

Just bear in mind that a 'custom' watercooling loop always has the option of adding more radiators, and will serve you for many builds to come. I doubt you'd get the same from an air cooler.
