Which EVO?

Evening all,

I have finally decided to get an EVO. Now for the question of which one...

The budget is £7k, but that doesnt necessarily mean I want to spend £7k...

I want to know which version I should get, from III to VII (as these suit the budget)

So for example if there is a 4 for sale at £4k, but a 5 for sale at £5k, would it be worth spending that bit more just to get a newer revision? Some of them are bound to be considered THE models to go for.

I have discounted 1 and 2 because they dont look as nice, to me. In terms of what I will use it for... a bit of sunday fun and commuting.

Opinions please,

Thanks,

I dont think there is much in the looks, apart from the 7 looks much different to the others I have opted for, hence why I need to know if i should spend for example £4k on a 4 or £6k on a 6. Is it 50% more car compared to the 50% price increase?

You buy an evo knowing what you're getting to be honest. It could throw big bills up pretty easily I imagine.

I'm going to go with this. It's also a questionable choice for something that has got to be a commuting car?

Aren't earlier Evos prone to the "Crankwalk" issue too?

What do you mean by the first part of your sentence?

Also, are parts notoriously expensive? The reliability must be pretty good being jap, so the fact i will commute in it shouldn't make a difference?

I mean people could right pages and pages on what faults and merits X, Y or Z model and if you search you will find it.

You buy from people on owners clubs with previous threads and lots of history and not from Kevin from da block.

I have found all the technical articles about differences in chassis, engine etc etc, but what that doesnt tell me is how they drive compared to each other / how much i will like one over the other. 10mm longer chassis? Great... does this justify me getting a 6 over a 5 for an extra £k?

Thats what im after really.

Also, as for reliability and jap, i commute 17k miles mainly by bike a year, the jap bike has never skipped a beat. They are incredible machines
