One of my mates has entered the comps for students to submit there videos filmed on there mobiles to win a few things whilst he is doing his uni work , if any one is able to watch / vote for him would be greatfull

Why should we vote for him simply because he's your friend?

Is he not good enough to win on his own merit? If so, is it fair he wins because we all vote for him because you told us to?

If I say nothing, everyone votes for his mate and he wins through no merit. Perhaps if I kick off a bit, people might think 'Actually, this is a pretty sucky thing to do to everyone else in the competition who put a lot of effort in to try and win'

The prize would be very handy for everyone else in the competition as well.

Why not simply link to the competition, ask people to watch the videos and then vote for the one they think is best? That way if your friends video is worthy of the prize, he will win.

Not at all, I've not looked at the page and have no intention on voting - I've had no negative effect on the competition at all. You and everyone else though, are casting votes without seeing all the videos.

You are trashing somebodies competition by cheating, yet you feel the problem is not your rigging of somebody elses competition, but the fact I dared point out how unfair threads like this are to those who are trying to win through MERIT.

Is it a competition to find the best video, or a competition to find the author of a video whose mates post on the biggest internet forums?

The internet has been ruining polls since....well...the internet and polls got together.

They who submit will be trying to gain support just like the OP's friend is, whats the problem.

I've removed the name of the votee from the first post and the thread is being closed. People should vote for who they think is the most deserving, if it happens to be the person D18241 wanted then it's all peachy.
