I Purchased a watch today.

That just looks ugly, I cant understand how people think that the watches posted in this thread look good in anyway .

I used to have one of those when I was about 10. Also had a variant which iirc was a bit chunkier with red writing and backlight - it was a little pricier by about £2. Must have been the deluxe model ;) Can't find it on google.

I've so nearly bought one so many times. I should just get one and be done with it.

The green backlight is so coooool :D

I stopped wearing watches at 15, it dawned on me that there is rarely a place you go that there isn't a clock of some sort and I really didn't need to know what the time was in Tokyo. :p

I stopped wearing watches at 10, when I was given my first mobile phone (brother's old Nokia 3210). :p

to all the people who use their phones as watches:

would you do it in a business meeting? whip out your phone for the time infront of colleagues/bosses/customers?

it's not exactly professional...

No, I would just look at the clock instead. ;)

My dad used one when his rolex had to be sent off to switzaland for clearing servicing and reconfiguring.

He hated it comparted to his 35 year old rolex

There's nothing wrong with having an expensive watch. There's nothing wrong with having a watch under £10.

To most people a watch is a fashion accessory and the more expensive ones are usually due to the craftsmanship that has gone into it.

I find it quite hypocritical though, people who say it's pointless spending X amount for a watch. When the same could be said about almost anything which serves a basic function. Shoes, clothes, cars, food, tv etc.

I'm still sticking with the average quality watch I got from a jewelers a while back £60, it fits and tells the time. Looks the same as any other watch to me, only wear it a few hours a week anyway.
