Just a wee reminder more than anything having just had to buy 2 new tyres due to the titled issue.

Both tyres appeared to have a slow puncture but actually the rubber was 5 years old and simply starting to crack on the inside :(

I'll certainly be checking the tyres more carefully in future!

*wanders of mumbling about money*

5 years, wish my tyres lasted even 12 months. Think yourself lucky, thats not a bad lifespan :p

I usually get 2 years out of my tyres since I don't do many miles. However in this case I didn't fit the tyres, the previous owner did....

I need 4 new tyres on my Golf 4Mo shortly. But they've been on there for at least 4 years. I'm quite shocked how long they lasted on a heavy car with a big engine.

We've just replaced a pair of original tyres on my GF's Corsa, 6 years isn't bad going really, they had loads of tread left on too, but kept going down :(

My current front Eagle F1 GS-D3 are still going after 3 years.

Do you use Tyre Shine etc?

I really do think that Tyre Shines etc help feed the side walls and prevent them from drying up as much.

3 years Fox, I thought you would have done more miles than that. I can never seem to get a set of tyres to last 12 months. Thank god the tracking is getting done next month.

To be honest the fronts dont tend to get that much wear but they are about down to 3mm now, I've got 4 new tyres on the way to replace the lot.
