I have a monitor audio centre speaker as well as other MA speakers.

I want or rather would like to mount it on a small shelf/bracket thing.

Anyone know anything suitable. The speaker has no built in hanging points.

Just in process of decorating lounge and my 37" plasma panasonic will then be wall mounted.

thanks.

Lucid, I like your idea then the speaker will look like it is just floating there. But is it bad to screw into a expensive centre speaker to mount these?

It depends... Are you cack handed at DIY and the kind of muppet who would use 6" screws when 1/2" would be perfectly fine lol :D.. but on a more serious note, do you plan on selling the speaker at some point in the future?

Rega used to make a similar style bracket for their center speakers. The only way it would attach was by screwing it directly in to the cabinet. As long as it's done properly with pilot holes and the correct type screws that aren't too long then it will be fine. If I were doing it myself I'd paint the brackets black before installation, and I'd mount them a little below the topline edge of the speaker so that they wouldn't be seen unless viewed from close up.

I think that sometimes you have to make a sacrifice to get the look or effect you really want.

Just build a small shelf out of 2 Right angle brackets and a peice of wood to match your room.

a mate of mine used a floating shelf for his centre speaker. As long as it's fitted correctly and the speaker isn't too big and heavy, it works great. cost him about £12
