Hey guys/girls,

I've recently been watching Family Guy and I've noticed that the stereo sound that comes from it is the wrong way round. So when Peter walks off screen to the left talking, it goes off to the right on my any of my speakers/headphones. I've double checked my headphones are the right way and my speakers, and I've checked this problem with other films, series and downloads and I don't have a problem with it on any other film or series.

Could anyone shed any light on this? It's a bit of a strange problem :S Surely the guy doing the sound for Family Guy season 8 can't of got his Left and Right mixed up?

Cheers

In what format are you watching? TV? DVD? DivX ;)? If the latter, maybe the person encoding it bodged the job. I've not noticed this problem on the DVDs!

I'm watching it on DVD's. They aren't ripped or anything. Brought from HMV. Strange :S

Are you watching it through your PC's DVD player? Maybe the PowerDVD settings are fudged somehow. Do you have another DVD player in your house i.e. a standalone connected to your TV (again you would have tried this I assume, but I'll say it anyway)?

Nah I have tried that actually 'Robbie G'. I just tried different films on my PC to see if it was my set up or any software issues but it's only that series that is doing it. I'll try it on a standalone and see. I didn't think to use it on something totally different to my PC.
I'm currently using Windows Media Player atm for my DVD's, if the settings were fudged somehow, wouldn't it be doing the same for other films?

Thanks for the input guys/girls :)

it could be an error on the dvd itself, i'm sure mistakes do happen. you may be able to ask for a refund, or you may even be able to swap channels if you use something like vlc to playback the dvd. :)

Yeah I did wonder if it was just a dodgy DVD. As soon as I get in from work, I'm going to double check everything again, just to make sure.
I won't bother taking it back, I'll keep the special version ;)

It does happen. When i first got the Matrix the entire Lobby scene was missing from the DVD. I got a replacement, and it was the same! The whole batch must have been faulty.

Tell me about it. You'd see them walk in, she'd dump the bag on the conveyor.. then it would change angle, and she'd pick the bag up and get in the lift...

daylight robbery!
