Breaking Bad

Only 1 episode to go this season! Have to say I haven't been as impressed with season 3 compared to the first 2, in particularly the second.

What's wrong with my thread? Eh :p

I love it, one of my fav ever TV shows. Forgot all about the 3rd season, now its near finishing I shall obtain it.

Glad it has as was utterly dissapointed by the final season of Lost.

Sorry! Did a search and this is the first one that popped up :(

(Minuscule Spoiler)
Season 3 is in my opinion slightly less exciting as Walt and Jesse are working for someone else opposed to working and dealing for themselves.

I love season 3 but it seems to lack direction compared to the first two. Season 3 has been all over the place. It seems every episode this season starts a new story or introduces new characters. Its been pretty wild.

The end of episode 12 was kinda of a shocker. It was the most holy **** moment in the whole series. The bond Walt and Jesse have must be pretty deep for Walt to do something like that.

Really sad to see season 3 end next week but feel it needs some much needed closure. Also, if Hank doesn't find out that Walt is Heisenberg in episode 13, then I'll be pretty ******* off. Walt can't keep getting away with murder..literally.

In a nutshell, what is this series about? Heard a few people say it's good but don't really know the premise?

Season one

A struggling high school chemistry teacher, Walter White (Bryan Cranston), is diagnosed with terminal stage three lung cancer, and resorts to selling drugs to provide for his pregnant wife and handicapped son. On a ride along with his DEA agent brother-in-law Hank (Dean Norris), he sees a former student of his, Jesse Pinkman (Aaron Paul), fleeing the scene of a meth lab. He contacts Jesse and devises a scheme to cook and distribute methamphetamine in order to pay for his treatment and leave his family financially stable.

Season two

Walter becomes further embroiled in the world of meth dealing. Walter and Jesse are kidnapped by a Mexican drug cartel and Jesse loses his money to asset seizure. Jesse becomes involved with his landlord's daughter, Jane (Krysten Ritter), who is a recovering heroin addict. Walter and Jesse are forced to hire a lawyer, Saul Goodman (Bob Odenkirk) who puts further strain on their money.

Season three

The city of Albuquerque is in shock after the mid-air collision at the end of the second season. Walter and Skyler have separated and Jesse is in rehab following Jane's death. Gus Fring (Giancarlo Esposito) makes Walter an offer, $3 million for 3 months work, which he initially turns down. Later in the season, Walt accepts an offer to produce meth for $15 million, extending the original offer by a year.

Agree completely, I don't want to spoil season 3 for anyone but I just feel as if it's lacked direction entirely, really really looking forward to the finale though because it feels as if there are so many questions that still need to be answered and personally I can't see Breaking Bad going on for more than 4 seasons, the storyline just doesn't have enough depth.

Might wanna be careful about discussing season 3 in depth Robert!

Yea, I give this 1 more season. To be honest, I really didn't think there would be a season 3. Episode 13 really needs to set up season 4 big time. I really think season 4 will be Hank's time. He has to stop Walt and Jesse.

Saul Goodman has to be my favorite character on the show. He plays a scum bag lawyer perfectly.

Just watched the season finale! Great final episode to a season which pales in comparison to the first two. I really really hope they don't make more than 4 seasons! 13 Episodes would be the perfect amount to tie everything up!

Agreed. I didn't realise that was the finale - I was like OMFG! at the end! :)

I do want Skylar and Walt to get back together, think they'd work together really well - it has to happen next Season :)

When does Season 4 air?

According to this there is going to be a 4th Season, which is great news :D

*Edit*

I am only up to Episode 12 FFS! I have some watching to do! :)

Both episodes 12 and 13 of season 3 were absolutely shocking. Both had moments that will stay with me for a long time. But how far can they push making you hate the protagonist?

Either way, fantastic shows and a great finale to season 3. I can't wait to see what happens next.

Love this show so much.

How long do we have to wait until season 4? Im not used to waiting as I normally wait until the end and watch them back to back, this is going to be agony.

Wow, I loved the finale :D
Breaking Bad must be a difficult show to write for. Looking back on season one, the two main things going on are that Walt is dieing and of course - that he's breaking bad. But there had to come a point when he's either dead or reasonably well again. Likewise, you can only be "breaking bad" for so long before you either stop or become a different person. So very quickly the show had to change it's tone dramatically and from season two or so, Walter is already as much Heisenberg as he is Mr White and his illness has stopped being an issue.
From that point on, sure it's had it's up's and downs (for me, I didn't love the start of Season 3 and the Skyler episodes) but it remains an original and very exciting show, which excels at being unpredictable and having a very strong group of supporting characters.
It's difficult to guess what direction it will take next season but when it's on form, it's great fun. ;)

Was that supposed to be a good clip?

All saw was some terrible American show with a canned audience "laughing" at completely unfunny moments - that supposed to be part of the humour, is it a show within a show or something?

ABC is a network that only allows very moderate curse words (such as "ass" and possibly "bitch") so that clip was hinting at what Breaking Bad would be like on ABC if they removed the violence, bad language and made it into a sitcom. (ABC has a lot of sitcoms)
