valve are moronic idiots who know that some fans will defend them till death , they are in it for the money only and do not give a flying **** about people who buy their games . when will people get this fact ? , i like to play hl based games but think valve are handling the hl stuff incorrectly . a simple yes or no would be far better than the way they have done this , face it no halflife 2 ep3 this year/ever

If they were in it for the money they wouldn't take so long to release games. Valve could quite easily make some half-assed game and sell millions of copies. The fact that they don't do this shows they aren't in it for the money. They care about the quality of their games more than any other developer.

Jesus man, get a grip. They are just games. They are playing a good game with their marketing, makes it a bit more interesting don't you think?

Whatever comes out will be good, we ALL know that.

If it is not HL3, don't rage though, they don't OWE anybody HL3.

Valve do owe HL3. Ever since they released Half-Life they owe HL3 to all of us!

if we consider the ninja style updates for portal and HL2 recently, then a proper announcement/surprise, has got to be something big hasnt it?!?!

portal 2 and ep3 released together would be proper jizz worthy! but a date for ep3 would be sweet... i'm as eager as the rest of you, but i'm happy to wait for a good game!!

don't you think we have waited long enough ? , i mean how long has it beed since ep2 was released . whats the point of episodes if they take longer to release per episode ? , did they not say just before ep1 was released that every 6 months per episode ?

i hear you mate.. its been ages now hasnt it... but all the HL games have been so good, and worth the wait! i have to say my patience is starting to wear a bit thin.

I dont play many games really, but i'm all over a new HL game when it arrives!!

Not hoping for a new engine just yet, cos that'll probably mean a new PC for me!!

It will be Half Life 3. It's not Ep3, it's not Portal, and they're not stupid enough to release a new L4D. They've had so long now I'd be very surprised if it wasn't HL3.

If it is, I wonder if they will acknowledge that episodic content has been something of a failure in terms of faster releases.

Also according to this forum post by Icefrog (DoTA creator), it's not something to do with his game and Valve either.

A VG247 source has claimed that Valve’s “surprise” at E3 will be the unveiling of Source Engine 2.

The source, who wished to remain anonymous, said it’s possible Valve will be showing Half-Life 3 running on it – which would fit with the firm’s M.O. of showing Half-Life games on new versions of the code.
