Hay all.

I got a sony ericsson x10 on its way to me tomorrow but i am not sure if now if i made the right choice.

The phones cost the same on contract but now i am not sure if i got the lesser phone as the iphone mite last longer as in updates for the phone and apps.

I read that the x10 getting update end of the year i think though.

What you think ? return for iphone.

Thanks.

Keep...:)

The iPhone 4, maybe if you like the UI that much but not the 3Gs, it's a step backwards.

If it cost the same on contract, you should have gone for the 3GS. Sell 3GS and buy X10 with cash left over (if you want the x10).

The iphone 4 is also a consideration if its released at the 3GS price points.

However, I have the x10 and it is a great phone. I recommend you install an application called ADW.Launcher (its in the marketplace for free) straight away. It will give you the froyo launcher adding more homescreens and more functionality. You can then tinker with the settings (which there are a lot of) to get the exact launcher environment you want.

keep x10

much higher screen res (which makes browsing a pleasure) ,much better camera , faster hardware , faster browsing , better looking , cheaper , androids the future

and yea im biast because i own one but i own it because i really like it . ive used a 3gs for long periods and after using higher res phones the constant having to zoom in and out of web pages on the 3gs makes me want to cry

you really really should have held out a month and got the 4gs though !!! since it appears to fix my main problems with the 3gs !

Not an iphone fan, but in this case ill need to say iphone.

My gf had major issues with her x10 got it swapped for another and it was worse :(

Bought a Desire and now doesnt know what to do with the x10 :/

I moved from a iPhone 3GS to a Xperia X10 and i have not looked backed. I had massive problems with my iPhone where it couldn't really perform its basic functions very well at all. After a bit more reading on the internet, apparently its a common problems with the 3GS as the handset struggles in poor signal areas. I have none of these problems with my X10. I also found the iPhone too locked down, you don't really have a sense of freedom with the phone unless you Jailbreak it. As a example you can't change the SMS tones from the default ones. The camera is also very poor on the phone, which the X10 blows it out the water.

Sony Ericsson are due to release a update, that fixes all the little annoying bugs with the phone within the next 3/4 weeks. The R2BA013 update has been signed off and is ready for customer use. The 2.1 update has been announced with brings extra features, speed and better battery life to the handset.

In short I have not regretted changing from the 3GS to the X10.

:D

I have had none with mine. Is the handset network branded? As often the network branding cripples the phone

I can't seem to go back to the first setup screen on the phone :(

When the phone locks it keep saying no sim card in phone but its in there and the right way round lol

Went into contacts it also says no sim card :(

And when i go onto the camera it says no memory card but thats in there as well :(

it 'could' be a faulty one but youd be pretty damn unlucky if it has been !

if you go into the settings there should be an option to do a reset which will get you that setup screen back. if you post in the x10 thread someone will tell you exactly which buttons to press but i aint got mine with me

Ok thanks i did the reset still the same :(

I put my pay as you go sim in and the phone found it worked fine.

Some good new the 8 gig memory stick i put it back in the phone now that showing up as working ok.

My gf says i need to register it but i when into phone options picked my network then nothing new :(

is the the sim that doesnt work new or is it from your 6yr old phone ?

if its old then you may need to request a new sim. if its new then vodafone usually have to register it but i have no idea how that works actually

Your gf might be right, try calling up your Network and ask them if its been activated yet.

It shouldn't say no sim card though but I've not got an X10 so I'm not sure on the finer points of it :p

The sim card is new comes with my contract.

My old sim card works fine in the phone.

I would call them but got no credit and a broken new phone lmao and my GF has my bank card on her

Well, it takes around 24 hours to activate new sim cards in some cases so it sounds like that could be your problem.

You'll have to call them and ask, or leave the phone on with the card in it and see it starts working :p

yea the sim will need activating or authorizing.my bro had the same issue with his new phone last month. not a phone issue.

there will be a number on the sim or card the sim was in that you tell them when you ring.
