Quite literally, my son dropped his iTouch down the toilet.. (it was clean fortunately). I take it these aren't waterproof and are ****** otherwise? Can they just dry out? Just thought I'd check.

If it was off when it fell in you might be ok - if its anything like my mobile that I got waterlogged then dont turn it on, put it in an airing cupboard for 2-3 days to fully dry out (I put mine in the greenhouse with a fan pushing air over it). As long as you dont have any electrical activity going on until its dry it should be ok.

Good luck

Air'ing cupboard for 3 days, then 2 more days with it in a bowl of rice in a cupboard. Then try. Don't risk trying it within 5days tbh.

Did this with my old phone, dropped in river at a fishing match while texting, kept turned off, a week later it turned back on. Hopefully your be as lucky.

Wow that's pretty lucky considering you dropped it in when it was on

It was on at the time and my son kept trying it afterwards before I got home.

Unfortunatly we couldn't turn it off show so just left it. I've put into the conservatory as it gets very warm in there.

I was given an iPod Touch which had been through the washing machine and then left a few weeks afterwards, it was fully dried out and when plugged into a PC showed the red battery Icon and nothing more. Plugged into a wall socket charger and it turned on but would go off if unplugged, I changed the battery and it works perfectly now so you might be lucky!

I gave my old itouch to my girlfriends little sister to find it broke because she dropped it in the toilet! Doesn't turn on at all, thank god it was my old one!

I'm afraid even if it does work after it has dried, it's lifespan is likely to be limited as the water oxidises and turns the copper tracks to zinc.
