Asus rampage III Extreme

ASUS RC Tweakit V1.0.3 does run on an HTC DESIRE (Android 2.1) giving control of the motherboard for remote overclocking using Bluetooth.

Done a RC remote on/off. The Desire is paired but I'm having a few connection problems.

More will follow. :)

That looks so much better than it does on my N97, which doesn't even allow me to use the touchscreen.

The on/off feature is so useful though!

I've just found RC Tweakit V1.0.4 on the install DVD, was running V1.0.3 from the download page.

I keep on having to go to the Bluetooth Assistant to connect the Desire. Do you have problems with connection?

Mine normally connects automatically. So I just run the application on the phone and away it goes as long as the RC Bluetooth is switched on at the back.

The only problem is that I have to be in close proximity to the computer or it loses connectivity very quickly.

Does that mean you can't use your phone to turn your system on?

I'm running V1.0.3 as well.

I'm not getting automatic connection but still have a few things to try.

That is ok now, it does what it should. I'm also getting connectivity from the next room.

The only issue I have is that when you want to reconnect the application after some use you have to switch Bluetooth off then on again to restore the connection.

Well, I just got my new build finally up and running last night and amazingly the computer started up first time without problems which means I didn`t do anything wrong when building the system.:D

The first thing I did was to update the bios to the latest official bios for this board and install all the required drivers for my existing temporary Windows XP install.

At the moment, i`m using my old GTX 260 card and still waiting on my Zotac GeForce GTX 480 AMP coming before my build is complete.

Before doing any overclock testing i`ll need to install my windows 7 onto my Crucial RealSSD C300 256GB and getting my windows all setup first.

So far i`m very happy with my Asus rampage III Extreme and the rest of my build.:)

I've got an 0704 BIOS if anyone's interested. Enables support for better overclocking under LN2, enables the support for more CPU's to the "CPU Level Up" functions and adds more ptions into the tRFC for easier overclocking.

Can someone tell me if a VenemousX with 2 120mmx25mm fans in push pull will fit on this board (horizontal or vertical) and still allow you to use all dimm sockets ?

The slot closest to the CPU may have issues but only if the RAM have tall heatsinks but otherwise the VX is fine. If you're using 3 modules, you have nothing to worry about.

Cool. I'd be using all 6 modules. Dominators. I wonder would the Vx mount in push/pull blowing upwards then ? Is there a better aircooler for that job ?

The only better cooler is the Noctua NH-D14. Someone managed to get the Patriot Viper RAM installed without any problems by moving the front 120mm fan up. I'm not sure how the Corsairs compare in size but on Noctua's website, they mention taking off the top fins to avoid compatibility issues.

It runs ok with 3, the fan may just touch the ram/fin in the socket next to the CPU. I'll take a look in the morning. :)

Thanks. Now I'm thinking as the board is going into an 800D case, which has 3 120mm top exhaust fans, I would like to position the cooler with the fans blowing upwards (2 apaches in push/pull). So I would also have to consider if the bottom fan would foul the boards chipset sinks ?

I some times get a lock up starting from cold boot anyone else having
these issues?

I too am having boot problems. My hardware is intel x-25 80gb ssd, sapphire hd5970, i7 980x and of course the rampage iii extreme. Any one else having cold boot problems? I believe that it is my graphics card as the signal is not working on my monitor. Also my DRAM red led on the motherboard keeps coming on. Why?

ok so update on the newest corsair dominator gt 6gb package that i spoke of on page 35 of this thread. I have installed latest drivers and have checked to see if its possible to use 6gb in 3 slots instead of 4gb in two slots. Well nothing has changed at all and it is still not working. I have used cpu-z application and my memory is detected as 6000mhz which shows all 3 modules are detected but im guessing its the bios for the board that are still causing the problem.
should have got older memory...
