Goldring NS1000s' - Can't get the battery in !!

Just bought a pair of these headphones, how do i get the battery in ?

I've tried gently pushing and sliding the cup ( as shown in the manual ) but don't want to damage them by doing it wrong.

I'm sure its me just being thick

But can anyone tell me how the cover is removed.

holding them them so the right cup is in your right hand and left is in your left, turn the outside of the right cup towards you. make sure that the part of the headband attached to the headphone isn't stopping them move.

I was trying to turn the left cup with the NC switch on !

Glad someone had a better suggestion than I, I was just about to suggest use a mallet to bash it in!
