Hi there,

I need a new tv :( as mine has just broke.

What i ideally want is....

As many HDMI sockets as possible.
1080p HD
Min of 40inch screen (have 40 now)
budget of say £1000 - But this can be adjusted if justified.
No plasma's (play a lot of games)
LCD/LED ??? I dont know....

I am so out of touch as brought my tv over 4 years ago.

Any makes/models prices etc would be ideal!!!

Samsung UE40C5100Q? Can be had for £800 online, 4 HDMI inuts, full 1080p and 40". The 46" version can be had for for just under £1000. These are both LED.

i never get the desire to have as many hdmi sockets as possible on a tv, if your spending nearly a grand on a tv i would expect to match it with a nice av receiver.

however i would agree with the samsung tv's but you really shouldnt be paying £1000 for a 40" (even LED ones)
make sure you buy online.

The only reason i say as many as possible as i have

360
blu ray player
ps3
Pc

And they are all HDMI? havent got a clue what an AV receiver is - Audio visual box of some sort then?

Samsung sounds good then. Will check that model out :D

thanks

Any more info would be good :)

360 - depends if you have the hdmi model.
blu ray player - yes
ps3 - yes
Pc - depends if you have the right graphics card outputs and cable.

av receiver - like an amp but handles vid aswell, if you have one you would run all you hdmi through it and then have only 1 going to the tv - and your also get better sound naturally.

if you want a nice entertainment setup (especially if you have bluray and consoles) then whats left out of the £1000 tv budget could go into an av receiver/speakers. - just a thought.

360,PS3,BLU RAY, PC = All hdmi set up :)

Do samsung do an av amp thingy?

Also that model that i was given Samsung UE40C5100Q - isnt listed on where i was gonna shop from...they have Samsung UE40C5100 ????

well yes they do but their not good for the money, if you want to go that route - ie you want a complete entertainment experience/5.1 the works then for £300 you could get the ONKYO HTS3305 which is a nice upgradable 5.1 system with a decent av receiver.
