Chipped Diesel drivers.

The Mitsubishi imports belch out loads of smoke i doubt that all of them are chipped, you will get drivers like this all the time guess you will just have to get used to it the roads arent going to get any quieter

How do you guys make it from one place to another without blowing a vein in your head? So judgemental about every thing from Saxo drivers, Micra drivers, Chavmobiles to diesels, just let people be. Seems diesels are the new in thing to whinge about lately though.

I doubt that internet indignance always crosses over into the real world with the same gusto.

What car are you referring to here?

At a guess I'd say the Pajero (Shogun) and the Delica

Can't think of any other Mitsubishi diesels worth importing.

Fun fact: Pajero is spanish for W⚓

I've decided they're even worse, followed a diesel C30 down Kendal bypass for ages in the right hand lane. It's gold but the back is now completely matte black. Belching disgusting smoke whenever he tickles the throttle.

We get to Ratherheath doing about 55 and I begin to overtake on the short section of dual carriageway. I'm easing past him in 5th, but when I draw level he boots it, making another huge cloud and leaving me behind. Then at the end of the dual carriageway he slows down again.

Fantastic, your 2 litre smog machine is faster than my 1.6, now I have to trundle along in your ash cloud all the way to Windermere. Bloody tourists in their ****ing diesels.

Solution..... get a faster car :p

It has 150bhp so even standard would pull away from a 1.6 petrol even more so on a rolling start.

Strange it was smoking as they have a DPF even the older Euro IV ones.

EDIT On checking the very early ones didn't have a DPF.

Every now and then under hard acceleration i.e. high exhaust output, the DPF 'cleans' and crap loads of smoke will come out. Short, light footed trips aren't good for a car with a DPF, it wont have a chance to clear.

Windows up, re-circulated air con on, problem solved.

Just doesn't work like that though does it, if you can smell it then it's too late, put recirc on and it just retains the stench for even longer. Not an option unless you use recirc all the time.

Something wrong with the guys engine then, D5 chipped here and smoke output when hammering is minimal!

How would you know? You drive it from about 15ft behind the back?

I wonder, if this had been a petrol car, if there would have been a problem.

Speeding up once you realise someone is halfway through trying to overtake you is pretty much attempted murder in my view, so yes it would still be a problem.

Given these forums sometimes, I do wonder.

Maybe C30 driver realised there was a big hill round the corner and didnt want the torqueless 1.6 petrol car slowing him down when he got to it :p

When was the last time you saw a modern petrol car belching out a large cloud of black smoke though? I've noticed that anyone in anything other than a rep special diesel seems to drive worse than average. Diesel Skoda's seem to be the modern choice of old dawdlers in the way Volvo's used to be.
