ITV HD V BBC HD Football IQ

Is it just my naff cinema room setup;) or is the picture quality of ITV HD football coverage crap compared to BBC HD?

The sound is not even broadcast in Dolby Digital 5.1

Dissapointing:(
 
Lost the feed apparently, probably just before England scored and they cut to an advert to see if they could fix it I guess.

As for sound, no idea on HD.
 
For what its worth STV HD is better quality that ITV HD

10.935 GHz V SR:22000 FEC:5/6 Label: 3855, still have to add it manually


STV HD has a res of 1920 x 1080 where as Englands ITV 1 HD is only 1440 x 1080.

STV HD was up for whole game other than the gap at the England goal, english comms and just as funny for those who care :D
 
Tonight is not a good night to judge ITV HD. They had a problem with their HD feed and missed the goal and switched to a SD source. They have had problems before as well. Yesterdays matches though were fine and the HD picture did look better than the BBC HD picture. Tonight was not a normal night but it is also not the first time it has happened.
 
As above, ITV HD lost the HD feed tonight just before the first goal, so they switched to the SD feed for the remainder of the game. The sound is only ever 2 channel though, unlike BBC HD's 5.1 audio.

Sorry what is STV HD? Can I get it on virgin media?

I was watching ITV HD when they cut to an advert, when it came back I saw the replay for the goal so it wasnt so bad, but what annoyed me the most was that the quality was utter pants. I told my dad this isnt HD anymore and he just took my word for it, but for me it was clearly not HD.

Are ITV going to put in some measures to make sure they get proper HD feed? They gave us like 10 adverts in the hour before kick off so they should be loaded.
 
Having never seen a live HD feed before the start of the world cup I was in awe of both ITV and BBC pictures - will keep an eye out for subtle differences in the games to come - it's great fun watching this on a 50" plasma :D
