I have ben waiting for a parcel for ages, i just went onto Amazon to track the package and have found that they apparently tried to deliver and now it has gone back to the Southampton Depot.

No 'non delivery' card has been left. What can i do to get my parcel? They 'tried' to deliver on the 7th it now the 13th.

Can i not go to the post office to get it sorted?

You could try if it's still there but as you have no card they may not give it to you. Phone and ask first, if they will allow you to pick it up they may require some photo id + a utililty bill showing your address.

I think parcels are kept at depots for a week before being returned to sender.

I think your beef is with RM, not Amazon. Gits for not giving you an undelivered slip.

Recorded delivery items are held for 1 week, special delivery & standard mail items for 3 weeks. http://www.royalmail.com/portal/rm/customerservice2?catId=69800731&mediaId=83800737

As mentioned before, take proof of ID (Passport, Debit Card) and proof of address (Utility/Mobile/Payslip) and you won't have any problems. Just explain that you were not carded, and should be sorted.

Out of curiosity, what service was used to post by amazon?

Well i thought it was Royal Mail, the Amazon tracking system seems to say it was them. After writing to Amazon they gave me a link to a way of having my parcel redelivered... but its through the Home Delivery Network. So im confused. Apparently the parcel is coming tomorrow! Result.
