Hi

My niece is gonna bring me back some cigarettes back from HK, and we was just wondering what's the limit for non-eu countries.

Thanks

They are a bit tight... i brought back 200 in my suit case, 40 in my pocket and like another 400 in hand baggage coming back from spain last year.. I thought non-eu would be more.

Thanks for all the help, I think the key words here are allowed, could, and can...

If you get caught bringing more back than allowed then they will be destroyed unless you declare them and pay import duty, etc afaik

Non EU is less than EU, as cigarettes are duty free - not local duty paid like if you buy in spain.

ie. A carton of cigs here duty free is around 68RM (£14.80)

Do not ask a friend to bring more back than the allowance.
Extras are destroyed, then you add in a fine then add in the fact they are placed on a "look out for" list.

You want to risk smuggling do it yourself, seriously.

lol, you're silly!

Bring back as many as you can fit in your suitcase really, no one ever gets stopped.

When I came back from the states the other year I had close to 1000 cigarettes on me in various bags. Strolled straight through customs without a bother.
