Best in ear headphones upto £140

This has got to be a troll...

£140 in-ear headphones? For an iPhone?

Some £25 CX300s would be better than iPhone sound quality anyway.

I use my £200-ish Ultimate Ears triple.fi headphones with my iPhone and they're fantastic. OK yes better sound quality via a hifi or something but there's still a huge difference between them and my £40 Sony pair :)

I used to have the Triple.fi's and they are a great set of phones, but the ER4P's are cheaper and supposed to be very good.

Having said the, the iPhone will hold you back quality wise.

Hmm theres no point in me getting headphones that are too good for the sound source, so that maybe rules out the triple ultimate ears, anything from seinheisser that will do, dont wat to spend more without getting the adding sound benifit

Everyone seems to go for Sennheiser in the cheaper price brackets but I'd take a look at UE Superfi too, and Etymotic make some awesome earphones too (friend has some, is what made me get my UEs, to one-up :p)

I have a set of Etymotic Research HF5 and imo they are the best sounding earphones around, they can be had for around £70.
You can also get a set of Ultimate Ears SuperFi 5vi for £49 (The 7th result on google) which are also great value.
But bang for your buck the HF5's are excellent.

How do you think they will compare to these

Denon AH-C551 my current set. Still nothing compared to my hd 650s

They are good but I wouldn't recommend them as for £80 the hd 555s are quite a bit clearer especially at the highs, but the lows on these denons are really good. I would avoid them in all honesty paid £80 could have gotten a pair of seinheisser or ultimate ears like the guys say above

Shure in ear monitors like the se210 or se310. I've got a pair of the se420 and the sound quality is amazing.

Just be aware that getting the right fitting is essential, as without an airtight seal within your ear canal they sound very dissapointing. Also be aware that they are in ear monitors so give a very detailed and musically accurate sound but won't blow you away with extra bass (unless the music already has masses of bass).

Personally I use Westone UM2s on my nano, excellent they are :)

I use UM-2s and UM-1s with my iphone, both are excellent. On the go I think the UM-1s are maybe the better choice as the UM-2s are a fair bit extra and maybe are slightly less comfortable being bigger. I've looked several times though and I can't find anything else which touches them...

They're awesomely comfortable :) I wear them every day to/from work and at work, they just sit in your ear perfectly. I have custom molds as well but my ears have slightly changed shape in the past 3 years so I need new ones but these also make a difference over the foam tips.

Indeed, my only likely replacements would be the UM3x I think!

Shameless plug, but My sennheiser IE8's were on the MM for £110 inc PnP. They retail at £180 and sound great if you like an emphasis on warmth and bass.
