I love you guys

Unbiased opinions? Are you reading the same forum I'm reading? :p

Well I only said a 'good bit of'. It's not full of people loyal to one brand. There's plenty of differing opinions apart from a few die hard fanboiz. Most of the time this place is useful, and consists of a reasonably coherent demographic that aren't a bunch of chavs..

I also forgot Fox is educated in Finance and presumably holds some form of Finance related role, be it Accountancy or whatnot - Which completely explains the trend, everyone being slated on money matters. :p

As usual, the rest of the board has jumped the bandwagon.

The fact their usually black and white 'opinion' means that there are only ever 1 or 2 cars that they can ever recommend is so at odds with the real world where many people enjoy many different cars blissfully unaware...
blissfully unaware that their cars are inferior to the competition? Quite probably! Most people haven't the foggiest about cars or the costs of motoring.
The thing is though, most advice posted here is factual. If someone recommends a Mondeo instead of a Renault Laguna or a Kia or something, don't you think there's a reason why? :p
Exactly! If someone is looking for a good upper medium segment car, the the Mondeo is the best choice. Sure, Motors could recommend a Vectra or a Passat or a Laguna or an Avensis, but we'd be recommending a car that isn't as good a package!

Steady on, dont credit me with that much influence :p

This forum works because people can post what they think. They often think rubbish but thats part of life, isnt it?

I wasn't pointing fingers though, I stated that in the OP ;)

The thing a lot of people forget is that this forum has not changed in many years. It's been like it as long as I can remember. It's just.. how it is.

And it largely works. It's fun and interesting place to hang out and there is, actually, a lot of useful advice to be found here.

What's good about this place apart from the obviously entertaining arguments, is that its not too specific.

Anything motor related is fine to discuss, so it dosent get too bogged down in the intricacies of one particular make.
