need a ddr2 lga775 xfire mobo

got a asus p5nt currently which i didnt plan far enough ahead to sli or xfire

so i want to get a xfire capable mobo with about the same specs as the p5nt

i was thinking of going ddr3 but i dont really need massive memory power and the 4gb i got is fine! ill be running 2 5850's and a q6600 and looking to oc the cpu and memory and proberly leave the gpu running stock unless ocing in xfire is easy.

The only board worth having from here is the Asus P5Q Deluxe but it's overpriced. Have a look around for a P5Q Pro Turbo at around £95.

Yes but that's overpriced as well. You can find them for £95ish if you look.

yer , so how you ment to show ppl stuff lol. well im getting one 5850 then ill keep looking for the p5q till i find a cheaper one, then buy another 5850

I think you will find that your cpu will bottleneck a single card let alone a pair. E2140 at 2.2Ghz is'nt enough these days. Have a look around for a cheap second hand E7000/8000 series or even better a Q6600. Providing your mobo will take them that is.

The asus board should memry and psu permitting run the Q6600 at 3.2 ish with out to much effort

Missed the Q6600 bit. The P5Q should get the Q6600 quite a way past 3.2Ghz. Quite a few Q6600's will do 3.6-3.8Ghz.

sounds good. is that 445fsb 8x, = 3.6?

is that on G0 stepping tho right? and i suppose i wont know for sure till i buy it and check cpu. or will it say it on the heat spreader

G0 stepping is what you want. The earlier C1's run hot and need more voltage.

445 x 9 = 4.05Ghz

The Q6600 has a 9 multi , iirc. And as posted above, make sure its a G0 stepping.

It will have SLACR on the heatspeader ;

i had a look, for the life of me i cant find the mm !! think im blind!!

also i get the warranty from cex, and no doubt ill have some thing to trade like my old phone for £33 so would make it cheap, and as i got my phone for free im quids in!!
