Right well, had my car up for sale now for 3 weeks and well considering its priced cheaper than most on numerous sites, im amazed at the lack of interest.

I've had one person view the car and test drive they put in an offer which was just too low for me to accept, plenty of people are watching the advert on ebay and its had nearly 500 views but, no phone calls or emails.

I this what selling privately is all about, becuase its tremendously boring.

Did you pay twoblacklines to take the photos?

Anyway the market is pretty slow in this part of the world, get it on AT and some of the ST forums if you haven't already

You say it's cheap, but it's £200 more than the Parkers valuation for private good.

I know you don't have a camera, but try to borrow one. Looking at the ad and the pics just makes me go meh. Good pics make all the difference.

Better pictures would be good. Looks like pictures my old 1.3mp phone camera took.

Although I couldn't see a serious buyer put off by those pictures, they really don't do the car any justice.

I've priced it in occordance to whats on ebay/ph/autotrader, apart from a couple which are lower but with higher mileage its cheap.

There are a few around 8k but they are CAT D's so should be low. According to the glass valuation i got though its priced about right, based on the options I have etc.

Thats a terrible advert for a start. The photos are very bad and give no indication as to the cars condition. The car isn't parked in what looks like a 'nice' area and this can put some buyers off. The advert itself is poorly written and again gives no indication as to the condition of the car.

It's just utterly meh, I'm not sure I'd waste my time contacting you if I was after a Focus ST because to me it seems like you've either got something to hide about the car and its condition, in which case I don't want it, or are just generally being lazy, in which case I don't want it.

I appreciate this is harsh but you want to sell your car not have your ego massaged, right?

Re-write it. Explain in detail the car and its condition. Why should somebody buy it? Sell us your example. Good, high res photos clearly showing the cars condition in a half decent location. No stupid coloured fonts.

And price it better - £200 over book for a car that looks average is not a good price.

Isn't this the subject of a 'save money by selling my car for £9k and buying a BMW for £8.5k' plan atm?

The ad needs to be more personal & like others have said drive the car elsewhere & get some decent pics.
It may be that there is just not the cash out there for a 2nd hand motor at the mo, Times are hard Dude.

Knock the 200 quid off so it enters searches made by people up to 9k.

Try the owners clubs as well, sold my Clio in a few days which for this part of the world wasn't bad going :)

It's the photos mainly, they're worse than useless - you can just about tell it's a Ford, never mind the state of the paintwork/interior.

1. Buy/Borrow a better camera
2. Park it somewhere nice
