Contract is up with O2 soon and as I am not expecting any decent deals from there retentions team so I have been looking at other networks.

T-Mobile was my first choice as an alternative but I have come across some good deals on Virgins website.

On the Virgin website they have N97 mini, HD2 (refurb) and E72 available free on £25/month over 18months with 400mins + unlimited texts.

Pretty much every other site want a 24 month contract for these free!

I know a couple of people on Virgin already who reckon they never have any signal issues etc however none of these people are what I would deem "phone savvy" so would rather ask here for more oppinions.

IIRC Virgin piggy back T-Mobiles network don't they?

If so does this meen they will also gain access to Oranges masts as well soon?

I am on Virgin, I like them. Never had any issues. Their customer services take quite a long time to get through to (when I've rarely needed to call them) but they've always been helpful.

As a Virgin broadband customer I know the pain of there customer services :p

UK call centers for the phones or overseas?

I'm on virgin and never have any problems. They do run on the t-mobile network so if you get good signal with t-mobile where you live you will with virgin. You can actually check on their website to see what the coverage is like where you live/work.

It's always been UK for me (call centres)

same

however the big call centre here that deals with vodafone and virgin just shut down because the contracts where lost too abroad

not sure what percentage they represent though.

virign where great when i was with them mind. can get some good deals if you have internet/tv with them too

I am with them now, and they are great. Haven't had any problems what so ever.

It seems I am the only one who bought a Desire from them though!
Was a great package when I got it as well

Apparently you can get better deals with Virgin if you already get Broadband/TV through VM as well. One thing I was wondering about though, looking on their site it appears that the "unlimited" web access costs up to an extra 30p per day. Is that correct?

The service is great as it rarely goes wrong, my internet has failed probably 4 times in the last 8-10 years cant remember how long i've been with them now. Ringing them up is a bit of a joke though, even though its UK the customer service people are numb, EG I wanted to upgrade from 20mb to 50mb but its cheaper per month if I have a phone line fitted which I dont want, so it costs them but its cheaper for me, I just stayed with 20mb

No. If you don't get a package with internet included then it costs 30p a day to use internet. If you get a package with internet then you get a 2gb limit a month(i'm not sure how strict they are if you go over the limit:confused:)

Well my Sim Card with virgin Stopped working for no reason a few hours ago, I've rung them up but their systems are down .. I'm hoping the 2 are related and mine will start working again, I wasn't playing with the sim at all, I take good care or my phone and haven't done anything to warrant this, might just be a faulty sim, just putting it out there though.

the included bandwidth limit is 1gb not 2gb unless you got something extra biron w

Might be different for a contract then  I'm just on the one month rolling contract with them and the limit is defintiely 2gb as I get a text when my contract renews telling me.

Well I've just ordered a Tocco Ultra on Virgin for me mum as she can't seem to get a contract in her name, will have a play with it when it arrives and see what signal is like at home etc before posting it off to her.

The wife has a 5800 on virgin, they seem to be a lot cheaper than other providers, and are only just starting to stock decent top end phones, like the X10, and desire etc etc.

She always manages to get a signal BTW.
