Ok my TV has broken down and I am looking for a new TV :D
I saw these three
LG 50PK350
LG 50PK590
Now they all have the same screen size at 1920x1080 and are 600hrz.
I was wondering would this be a good pc monitor to watch movies and play games on?

While I have played games (Xbox 360) on my plasma, not sure I'd use it as a PC display, due to IR. An LCD would be a better bet I think.

Well compaire to my cheap 20 inches £80 monitor that has no hd its would be used every day I think a 50 inch plasma tv whould be nice and is full hd 1080p:)

No one else want to commet ow well any way I am buy a 50 inch plasma tv either LG 50PK350 or LG 50PK590 and I am going to hook it up to my pc:)

I use a 40" 1080p LCD from my PC to watch movies on but as far as games and general use go the max I would want is a 30" monitor. Plasma is bound to burn pretty bad sat on the desktop or in a certain program for a long period.

I thought newer plasmas didnt suffer from burning much anymore? It's not as if he cant tell it to turn off after a few mins of idle. 50" is very big, gaming might be a bit tricky depending on what you play and the distance between you and the screen.

my mate uses a 52" plasma as a pc monitor and frankly i find it annoying. sitting close to it (well average distance that a pc user uses) i find you have to turn your head to look at various parts of the screen. Gets annoying and i find there is a slight flicker sitting that close to something so large (that's what she said).

The flicker is an inherent problem with using gas-filled cells as pixels. You only really notice it when you're close up, but other than very poor dot pitch that's another reason they don't make plasma PC monitors.

Having just bought a 50" plasma I wouldn't want to use one for gaming on the PC - with a 360/PS3 that'd be different but for windows etc use it wouldn't be that good as others have said due to flicker and IR ...

Sitting further back with just a controller in hand is much nicer and far easier on the eyes - playing Just Cause 2 is addictive :D

Why would you sit normal PC monitor distance to a 52" plasma screen:eek:? Were you cold?

its the way he has it setup in his room. he used to use it in the lounge as a normal tv but had to move out back to his rents and so its in his bedroom there.
