360 "slim" and natal to be called Kinect?

I see what you are saying. Not played much Wii, but surely they have some sort of sword fighting games. I guess they just use rumble to simulate effects/feedback?

Now that you mention it, Sony Move will be rubbish sword fighting, due to no rumble and MS Kinetic may be worse due to having nothing in your hand.

I would pay for a 1 off accessory that looked like a lightsabre for a star wars game though (maybe with rumble in it?).

Surely though with the Kinetic you could just use a prop like a large broom and start smashing your whole house up - after accidentally beating your dog to death during a round on soul calibur

I reckon it will be sub £50. I am sure the new 360 (slim) will have a bundle with Kinetic included for like £300 ish and that makes old 360(250GB) retail at £250 + £50 for Kinetic.

Sub £50 sounds to low to me. If I had to guess I'd say £69.99

Move does have rumble?
Just checked on google and you are right. Still wouldn't buy one, unless there was a lightsabre game :p and the controller and game came in a £40 quid bundle (I already have the camera).

Maybe a mini like 10 inch light sabre you could hold in your hand. Kinetic would be able to recognise it, it would know if you used a broom instead.

Don't foget this is a radical step up from the Wii remotes. No remotes, no chucks, no wires etc etc.

If if take dance games on the Wii, they're a bit of a joke, as you can just run on the spot and often this will result in the same score as if you try as hard as possible. I mean how can a remote in a single hand detect what your left leg is doing?

Where as the Kinect of course has far more of an idea of what your whole body is doing, even down to facial recognition if I recall.

This could be a very interesting step forwards!

Very true much like the jogging in Wii fit, but tbh the casual crowd won't care and will still do the required actions even though you don't need to.

Maybe it's just me but at present I don't see or feel there is a lot that Natal can do that you can't do better with the Wii already.

Won't happen this gen. They will need to have one next gen.

I still don't think they will. They'll have some custom disc thing. I think it's safe to say from the PSPgo that none of them will resort to a download-only games model.

I suppose there could be a game aimed at girls/women that involves blowing. Possibly some sort of teaching aid?

Or a virtual birthday party game for tight parents. You invite kids round, make them stare at the TV and blow out virtual candles on a virtual cake.

The possibilities are endless.

Dude! Your sarcasm is priceless. And if you're trying to act like a chump, you're succeeding beautifully...

Hmmm I'm not sure. To keep the manufacturing costs down, I don't think they could afford to have their own proprietary drive and disc. Would cut down piracy a lot, but would cost them too much imo.

Agreed... Not sure how well it will all pan out... And I've not yet seen the Kinect used along with a regular type of controller. ie: It's all well and good picking up your 'body language' but you're surely going to need a couple of buttons on a remote to do some stuff? You can't do everything by gesturing...?

Microsoft/Sony - Standard discs, huge losses.
Nintendo - Proprietary discs, huge profits.

I would say its more the fact that the Wii's are cheaper to produce overall and the huge Nintendo fanbase in Asia that has resulted in the profits for Nintendo.

FYI from my exp the wii doesn't use rumble for effects like that sadly. and when they do it's week as hell.
