dumb quesition, if TVs have Red Green and Blue how do they show yellow??

As with a computer in paint for example, the primary (RGB) colours are combined to create the secondary colours. This link shows the first relationships:

You may be thinking "but green and red makes brown!" but this is because a distinction needs to be made between the different primary colour models. Wikipedia provides some useful insight.

I assume the new TV's they ahve been advertising with a primary yellow do something really smart and show the yellow when needed and not a mix of 2 colours?

Yellow is yellow, it doesn't do anything clever at all.

That advert cracks me up so much. 'Actually, you don't.'! I guess you have to see one to see if it makes any difference. Have these TVs been reviewed?
