due to size of my room, im abit fed up with my 5.1, half the time its too loud or doesnt quite work. so im wondering is there any good 2.1 speakers? and not too expensive preferibly.

my sound card is a soundblaster X-fi Gamer

I've also been shopping around for the best 2.1 speakers sub 50 quid and have now decided upon the Creative T3130 speakers http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=SP-122-CL&groupid=702&catid=22&subcat=173
They get excellent and recommended expert reviews aswell as happy customer reviews.

There are other speakers which are far more popular in the same price bracket with far more happy customer reviews, but after researching into all of them, they also get lower scores from the experts aswell as a lot of similar complaints such as distorting at certain frequencies/volumes, having poor bass control/output or other such niggles.

The T3130s however, recieve happy reviews across the board, despite being less popular.

Sorry to hijack this thread, but my 540's have decided to go crazy on me, and im looking for some good 2.1 speakers as well :(

anyone else had experience with the Logitech Z523 2.1s?
on a budget around £60 max

Edit: Been looking at the Creative Gigaworks T20 2.0 as well

I'm still using my Altec Lansing mx6021's. Great 2.1 system that's not expensive. Got the speakers hooked up to my xfi-gamer. Mostly listen to flac and dts and the occasional mp3. They have the ability to be turned all the way up w/o distortion. Course that won't last forever. Kinda like gunning your engine all the time :D

Supposedly those Genius 2.1 speakers are meant to be cracking for the £32 price tag (beleive it or not) CPC reckoned they were as good as a £100 set that had in the same group test

N2.1 1100 or somethng?

those creative 2.1 caught my eyes too. that'd be the cheapest to replace my logictec 5.1. but depending on budget when i decide to change speakers, i may look at those Aego's

thanks guys :-)

In which case id say look that getting a 2nd hand amp and some bookshelf speakers. Will be cheaper and better than the Aegos. If you dont have much space stick the amp below your monitor or on the floor. Bookshelf speakers arnt massive

If you do this you also have a massive variety of setups and can upgrade if you want to. £50 for amp and £50 for speakers.

On a sidenote I sold my Cambridge A1 and Mission M71 bookshelf speakers for £55. This setup was fantastic, especially for £55

Bump/Hijack - Also looking at some 2.1 speakers for a temporary basis as I have nothing atm. Been looking at the Logitech Z323's, seem fairly reasonable, nice price and average reviews. Anyone got these or can recommend anything else?

Cheers

I've done thorough research of all the speakers listed in this price range, and the Z323's have common complaints of crackling and feedback. The T3130s seem like your best bet in this price range, I've just ordered them myself.
