Now? She's 66, there wasn't a lot of tread left on that tire as it was.

Yes, but usually those people are healthy, and not the case of doctors using IVF to purposefully create retarded babies for retarded people.
I am not saying this is right, but to say the poor babies growing up without mothers is a silly thing to say IMO.
It makes no difference if a mother is healthy and dies or old and dies the end reuslt is the same.
back at you for being so daft.But 99.99% of them don't start life with a 66 year old mum that will most probably be dead by the time they can talk to her properly.

I just thought it silly saying she could be dead in three years leaving the babies to grow up without a mother.
I'm not disputing this is wrong on many levels but that comment just seemed silly to me. Many babies grow up without mothers due to death at birth etc.

It's just sad, tbh. Whoever took part in the IVF is just chasing records 
1) I don't think a body which is at such an advanced age is a healthy environment for gestation.
2) Indeed, she is likely to be very ill or dead before the kids are independent.
3) IVF often produces these multiple births as several embryos are implanted to increase likelihood of success - but they're already in a less-than-ideal environment, for goodness sake at least don't make them share it..
4) At that age if you want a child please just adopt/foster one of the many unwanted children instead of adding more unhealthy ones...
I know mothering instinct can be huge (I've yet to feel broody) but really... The story makes me sad
