Yeah for me there's also an element of playing it safe. In my mind, nobody is going to look at a plain t-shirt and think "look at what he's wearing, what a muppet!"
I'd be exceedingly nervous about wearing a lot of designs for exactly that reason. Probably because I take absolutely everything deadly seriously, I'd be nervous about wearing the one you just linked, because when I look at that image I take it at face value. It says "independent, alpha male", and I'd be worried about giving that impression to others, which would (in my case) be a flat out fabrication
I think that's the main problem I have. I take these things seriously. I wouldn't wear a "Miami 69s" tee because I don't play American football, or support it. And when you start analysing absolutely everything and reading meaning into it, it's hard to stop, I can tell you
But perhaps... perhaps these things have no meaning at all, and I'm just looking too hard to make sense of it all.
