Insurer recommendations?

So you've come here asking for advice without even pulling your finger out and trying the obvious places first?!

What obvious places? I'm sorry if I'm not an expert in insurance companies  In the past I've just run a couple of comparison sites and bought the cheapest one, and been happy.

People hark on about the comparison sites being more expensive than direct. I've directly compared both methods many times before and the quotes always come back exactly the same, to the penny. Also I've heard the Admiral group story a bunch of times, again it simply isn't true for me.

I've gone with hastings this time, as they have beaten my former long term recommendation Direct line, by quite a large margin.

Direct line gave my 24yo son the best quote. Also have you tried Tesco?

I use Privilege but they're more for performance cars.

Have you tried a local broker - or do they not exist anymore :-)

Andi.

No one could touch Sky Insurance for me although I think they like modified cars over standard ones if that's what yours is.

Just out of interest Clarkey, you seem reasonably well read on things jap - do you not have plans to upgrade at some point? Not a dig at your colt - moreso just curious.
