Is it worth buying a PS3 in taiwan and then bringing it back to the uk. VAT aside would it be much and cheaper?

Also will it be able to run in the uk and will it be able to be used in english ?

It should work fine, I think a lot of people imported them from Asia originally when first released with no issues. I guess the Slim will be the same.

Not sure which region Taiwan is in with regards to DVDs and Blu-Rays so that's something to consider

Power will be fine as you'll just need a common cable type that plugs into the PSU. Taiwan is region 3 so DVDs are a no go but a lot of Blu-ray films are actually region free so I wouldn't see it as a major problem. There is a list online.

Only thing is though O will be X and X will be O! Which can be annoying if you're playing on a PAL PSP or PS3 as well as you always cancel things by mistake. Controls can be changed in game obviously or you could just adapt to the Asian way.

Sony's warranty is national only as well, they wouldn't touch my JAP PSP when it broke about a month after getting it.

What you want if you can find one is the old fat 20Gb no-wifi PS3 with the black chrome facia. Rare as, nice as, and can play PS2 games.
