The Ricky Gervais Show : your opinions?

Isn't this show just cartoon versions of the ridiculously funny podcasts from a while back? PErsonally love it :)
 
Since the Xfm shows aren't really available to as many people (there's definitely no official release of all the Xfm shows), I feel that re-hashing on podcasts for a much larger audience is acceptable.

I suppose they're trying to do new things with him now. I found the 'Ricky Gervais Guide To..." releases to be entertaining and not re-hashing over the same old stuff.

My main entertainment comes from hearing Karls opinion about things and getting to hear his reactions. It's not half as funny if Ricky isn't there to point out some of the insanity that man utters.

I liked the earlier shows on XFM where it seemed a lot less scripted and wasn't just Ricky taking the **** out of Karl the whole show.
 
latest football is hilarious....especially when Karl is talking about is amazement at the amount of saliva he can produce...

Its clear that monkey news and such is made up, you really would have to be mentally sub normal to believe things like that.

What isnt made up is when he comes out with his little sayings and his complete inability to describe situations, recall things he has read and put forward a point in an articulate fashion.

And to counter the argument you are no doubt going to recycle "If he was that stupid he wouldnt of got the job as a radio producer in the first place" I used to be married to a dentist who asked when I was setting up our new TV and selecting the UI language that if I selected "German" as the UI language, would all the programs be broadcast in German..............

I've worked with people who think the words "turbo inter-cooler" on their car means their car has air-conditioning.

People say things and believe things that ARE quite insane.

Carl does try and be funny, that ironically, is when the show falls flat on his face.

They are made up, yes. Those particular stories were ones sent in by listeners. The fireman one was sent in by someone from New York. You're also confusing the fireman monkey story with the story of a zookeeper who thought the monkey looked unhappy so took him home, where the said monkey taps his wifes ass as she's washing the dishes, bones her and then proceeds to live a happy life with her :D

Karl comments on season 1 episode 3 how a lot are made up.
 
Karl is not a character. :/

Whether he believes in his Monkey News is a matter of debate but that's it.

It's obvious that Ricky actually gets quite angry with Karl over his stupid beliefs, as in genuinely angry, I think he even walks out the room a couple of times over Monkey News. So clearly Ricky thinks that Karl believes in it.
