How would you know how he intented it to be taken? I made jokes every day at the expense of black people, I do it about anything that's funny (black people, white people, christians, muslims), in no way does that make me racist. Politically incorrect, yes, racist no.
And since when did something have to include irony to be a joke? If it's funny, it can be a joke.
