I always feel that my backgrounds better with a picture, than an image I made myself using Photoshop. But hows my editing in this Honda background I made, and yes, I'm a honda fanboy :p

I just wanted a plain background, with pictures coming onto it :)

Sorry, but it is horrendous. What's happened to the edge of the images? Why is the top Honda pink?

First, desktop backgrounds should always be a darker colour. Light colors really get in your face when you're working. Next, put a 50% opacity on the images so they are so in-your-face as well. Around the edge of the images, don't try to hand draw the pattern. Use your Layer Styles to give them an outer glow or shadow or something to fade them into the background.

Check out some Photoshop tutorials (just google for them -- there are loads out there) and you'll find some that will help you get a better feel for the tool.

Good luck in your practice!

Each of them have a drop shadow and the outer glow, which is a deep red with Linear Burn, and 40% noise :)

I ain't a fan of it either really :p

i've just put it to my editted mugen type r, black and white, and then the red honda badge is alittle brighter, really stands out nicely :)

Why? Now you know what not to do.. it was fine for what it was.. experimentation. Keep learning!

Thanks for the advice :)

I would put the pic of my mate's hair on fire (ginger kids get it all the time :p) and him breathing fire but I'd feel harsh on him :)
Heres some of the other stuff I have made :)

Headphone one, plain, but simple:

Tiesto one, giving a darker feel:
