hi i need advice on the best case for air cooling, budget £155

im thinking one of these

1. antec 1200
2. coolermaster haf 932
3. coolermaster haf x

ideally i would get 3 but its for my bday which is 19/7, so should i wait or get something else

Why not it's the best case out there for your budget.

Is it aesthetics or features you dislike ?

I can comment of the HAF's but a lot of people on here seem to rate them highly. Ive got the Antec 902 which is pretty much the same as the 1200 and im really pleased with the airflow through mine, id reccomend the 1200 but people think the antecs are ugly, so if you like the look of it go for that one.

Silverstone raven/FT02 is pretty much the best designed air cooling case around, slightly limited in space if you have crossfire and large coolers on the gfx cards, otherwise, theres plenty of room for just about anything.

£100 for the Raven, which has a certain..... look, about it, or £180 for the alu/sleeker version of the case. Compared to the Haf's and 1200 I think both Silverstone raven based cases are far better looking and mostly more useful.

Still waiting for a very slightly bigger version of them to be released as my xfired large cooler using 5850's would be a stupidly tight fit in the Raven.

The Raven looks very nice, but just wondering, with the window on the opposite side, would you not have to mount your MB upside down?

Definitely a fantastic case at the price. Build quality is superb. Very good airflow as well, currently running an i7 at 4ghz with 2 x gtx 275's in sli in an A70F, all running nice and cool.

hi all thanks for the advice, the reason i dont like the lian li is too plain, i know its daft but i currently have a lian li a10b so want something different hence the 1200/haf

I would say the coolermaster haf 932 would be good for air cooling since it be designed for it, just a shamed with the lack of filters, and also a lack of support for filters, in other words if you have a room with carpet or a lot of dust i wouldnt highly recommend, besides that a lot of room and beautiful cable management to increase the air flow from the fans

Antec 1200 is a great case for air cooling(i think). It can be a bit noisy in full swing of the fans but if set on mid or low it is not so. Great for cable management as well!
On the down side the air filters do tend to collect a lot of dust(thats what they supposed to do?) But to clean them is a pain! And this is the first time I've had a case with aside window, although Im loving it at times I can see the dust settling in the window as well.

just incase it makes a difference, heres whats going in it

Case Antec ?
Motherboard Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R

Optical Drive 1 Sony Optiarc AD-7240S
Optical Drive 2 Sony Optiarc AD-7240S
Hard Drive 1 OCZ Vertex 2 100GB
Hard Drive 2 Western Digital Caviar Black 1TB SATA 6Gb/s 64MB
Hard Drive 3 Western Digital Caviar Black 1TB SATA 6Gb/s 64MB
Fan Controller Zalman ZM-MFC3

surely the haf x pwns all before it?

2 top 200mm one front 200mm 1 side 200m rear 140mm internal gpu duct has another 120mm if needed (gtx 480).

the last review i saw the haf won so the haf x i cant see anything being better tbh as all those 200mm fans are rated at 100cmf and around 19db.its got dust filtering unlike the antec 1200/900 and trust me that big fan on the top attracts everything and the weird shape means it sticks in there and means fan removal for cleaning (possible?)

thats a lot of airflow when fully kitted!

The Antec 1200 does have dust filtering and the fan on the top extracts so you should hardly get any dust on it.

Ive used a Antec 1200 case before it was heavy and tbh when i switched to the HAF932 the cooling was a lot better in the HAF, although the amount of dust in the haf is a nightmare.
