Spyder III Pro Arctic Laser

Just a heads up .. people here who are planning on buying one of these, it comes with a locking pin; which must be connected to the laser to work. Once you are finished for the love of god hide the pin somewhere away from the laser, otherwise some idiot my come along and 'play' with it not understanding how powerful a 1W< laser actualy is.

If you want to use the laser in close quarters, the protective glasses that come with it as default ARE NOT STRONG ENOUGH.

Just imagine the damage that could be done if a *****/chav/rudeboi etc... got hold of it.

I was thinking the same when I read the Metro this morning. I'm sure its the papers/media that should be sued for bringing this sort of stuff to light. Same thing goes with Mcat. No-one really knew much about it until the media started blabbering about it everywhere

Chav + Spyder III + football stadium = Thousands of opposition fans blinded

edit - or me posting on the web. oops :o

Out of interest, what sort of power would the laser of been that was being waved around on Messi at the start of the Argentina game?

Most basic laser pointers are 0.5mw - 1mw. They will irritate/disorientate if you get them in the eye, but the blink reflex is quick enough to prevent any lasting damage.

Nothing in comparison to this, maybe 5 or 10mw

This one is 1000mw.

However I dont think blue lasers are anywhere near as visible to the human eye as green ones. So whilst this one is a lot more dangerous, it wont appear to be 100 times as bright as a 10mw green. (but would burn your eye lids off instead!)

1000mw green would be where its at!

Someone with better laser knowledge please correct me if this is wrong

"Prolonged exposure to blue laser light can alter and have a diminishing effect on a person's perception of the color green.Patients who were treated for being exposed too long to intense blue laser light in the milliwatt range were only able to perceive the green color in a period of about 4-6 months. "

It does look quite funky, be nice on a stand next to my sword on top o the tele :)

I have a funky green one, and its bright, great fun on foggy nights, and for chasing cats..:D

Oh & "...skin exposure to the intense blue laser light can possibly cause cancer." GULP!!!

So, shortly it will be lasers terrorizing everyone instead of a gun, and this can do it from such a range and leave no visible trace that you can get away with it scott free.

Wow.

And they do leave a visible trace, a very clear beam. If you shone it towards someone they would know it was you, not like the cheap red ones where you don't know where the dot is coming from

No need for a sunbed session or holiday anymore...Just buy one of these and put some sort of dispersion filter on the end of it, rig it about your bed, get some shades on and await the lovely tan!

(dont do this)

Yes but what I mean is there is no trace on the actual item itself, you can always use it and then run, it's not like you'd target people where they can see you do it, and then you'd just move away and there's no way to trace whatever happened to the person back to you UNLESS someone saw you shining the laser onto them, and the chances of people in England being observant about that is... 0

You mean like the one shone at Messi at the start of the Argentina game?
