Nasa warns of effects of 'space storm'

IIRC the Nasa statement said something like "countries with weak power grids, such as Eastern Europe and Britain" could have problems. It didnt say "OMG, Britain is about to get hit head on by a massive sun-fart" like that sensationalist article claims.

There was a blackout in my street the other night.

It was ok, the police quickly arrested him.

The name of an event should not be more awesome than the effects in causes.

Would be like calling a taser a lightning canon.

Did anyone actually catch when this would happen? I didn't see it in the video (probably zoned out and missed it)

It never said. There was one in Canada several years ago, IIR if you shut down the power grid and the transformers until it passes then we should be ok.

But what if the Decepticons come back and the transformers are all shutdown?

True, but that would never happen due to the lack of early warning systems and it wouldn't take that long for the effects to reach the Earth.

How ofton does anyone get a power cut in the uk? I've once had low voltage (lights were a bit dim) but uk power seems reliable to me. I wonder why we're singled out for being at risk.
