If this is what future gaming is then I say NO THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Star Wars game could be fun... controling the dashboard will be great, the rest is poo, just like all the other motion controllers, oh and the animals game?! why not make it using Pinatas, taking Pinatas from your VP1 and VP2 games, using the Pinata cards that you could buy or print off

I think he's talking about the online gaming solution where you just have a box and stream the game from a server

It will never take off, its available now IIRC, wheres the hype? Wheres the adverts, why havent I bought one? Because it looks crap.

Judging by the poster he probably means Live is the future. ;)

The system still suffers from 200ms latency, how on earth you're meant to use this for driving games is beyond me.

200ms! That's ridiculous. You couldn't play any action game even slightly well. Unless they bring it right down I guess it'll be only RTS and similar.

Well. Kinect isn't for me - i'm shy, unsociable and that's the reason I play Video Games - but I can see the appeal to more outgoing people.

gaming is losing its way with these contraptions.

I can just about get the wii controls on some games but you can still sit down and relax and play, this jumping about is a step to far.If I want exercise I will do proper exercise I game to relax.

I hope this fails hard.

It's never going to be taken seriously... by serious gamers.

I'd say if it only appeals to serious gamers, then it's quite risky.. considering the aim is to expand your userbase and tap into the Wii money tree..

Serious gamers.. pfftt.. more like sad geeks who 'live' for the games.. ;)

They're trying to steal Nintendo's market share, that's all there is to it.

I'd much rather they put the money into developing the next xbox rather than this gimmick.

And what will that be? Getter gfx? WOW!!!

I'm all up for gaming taking a new direction. It has used the same formula for the last 30 years and is getting a bit boring now. All you "hardcore" gamers would be happy if things never changed.

Never seen such a bunch of miserable sods as there are on this forum.

Motion controls DON'T WORK.

No tactile feedback, lack of any accuracy, latency, looking like a tit, just to name a few things.

It's not that I won't embrace new things, just needs to be done right and not look like just another way to steal market share.

Yup, motion controls are a gimmick and nothing more. Anyone with half a brain can realise that two seconds after picking up a Wii. This is, as has already been said, a thinly veiled attempt to capitalize on the Wii's success, and will likely end up flopping IMO when everyone realises how pointless it is.

But it isn't going to get better until developers have a chance to use the hardware.

If they do capture some more userbase, it ensures future support for the console.. Expensive 'flops' may mean no Nextbox..

MS (and Sony) are reeling from huge losses this generation, the return on investment has probably been at an all time low..

What's wrong with me playing some side by side 'fun' games with my 4/6 year old, I used to use the Wi i(But it's broken at the moment), if I want to replace the Wii for the pure family fun, Kinetic seems to serve that purpose.. Just becuase I can't play Halo by mimicking the position of a gun with my 'wands' won't really bother me.. Being able to control my Xbox from command/gestures, well kind of cool for 5 mins.. I'm not upset by Kinetic, if it does well, it'll find more useful ways in to more games I'm sure..
