Bad Company 2 Vietnam

WTF!

That was my first response to hearing about the planned expansion. Does anyone have any idea why Dice have decided to swap out the timeperiod of the game completely for an expansion?

It seems pretty stupid to me, it's going to make all of the current unlocks that people have worked for useless and introduce what seems to be an entirely seperate game.

I'd have been happy with some more guns and maps for the current time period Bad Company 2 myself. Something like the expansions for Battlefield 2 in fact.

Any thoughts? Love it or hate it?

Yes, it seems like it will split the community between those that have the expansion and those that don't. I'll probably pick it up, and just go back and forth depending on if i want to play Vietnam or Modern combat.

My response was WTF! This is awesome!

Battlefield Vietnam is one of my favourite in the series. The whole jungle vibe and being chased by a helicopter whilst playing Surfin' Bird was absolutley epic.

An expansion pack instead of yet another full game, credit to E.A this time around I think.

Hmmm I would have thought that this expansion should wait until the majority of bugs are ironed out in BFBC2.

As a result, this is god damned too beaucoup!

I can kind of see where you're coming from but the subject matter for the expansion is jarring when put next to the original. It's like giving Modern Warfare 2 an expansion set in WW2.

If anything i'd say that this expansion belongs on steam/360/PS3 as separate game a la Battlefield 1943. It certainly shouldn't have the Bad Company name attached to it.

Maybe I'm just bitter because I wanted more maps for the current iteration of Bad Company 2 instead of trying to re-invent it.

If you're quoting from a film where the character who said it was actually pakistani then I fail to see a problem, why don't you go start a thread about casual racism and let people discuss the actual topic of this one?

So, Vietnam, looking forward to it, haven't played a decent game like it since Vietcong.
