:p Is all i have to say!

The DMF is on the way out on the mondeo (04 with 64k ) and i have the option of fitting the solid one instead of the DMF for £350 (this includes the clutch etc)

I cant make up my mind whether i should fit another DMF (569 from ford) or just fit the solid one.

Will there be any issues fitting a solid one over the standard, for example vibrations in the cabin etc.
 
In my opinion, stick whats supposed to be in there, back in there.

I had a single mass conversion on my Golf done (using a Valeo kit).

Nowhere near as nice as the original DMF setup, just half the price.

Regret it now but not paying 600 quid out to make it a bit better, it's not too bad but if you like how it drives now then don't chance it if you can afford to "do it properly".
 
The gearbox was designed to be mated to a DMF so stick with that or you'll only end up doing more damage in the long run. The design of the flywheel was revised a few years ago so they're much more reliable. Are those prices parts only?

i recently stick a conventional flywheel and clutch on a 20vt a3. the main difference between the two was a slightly lighter clutch pedal. what issues have you had? ive heard a couple people say bad things about the valeo conversion now
 
Recently had a solid flywheel replace a DMF in our Transit - there is no discernible difference.

Personally, I'd put the solid one back in - this is what I would do if faced with the same situation with my Mondeo. The DMF offers very little IMO.
 
I paid £650 for a new uprated DMF and full clutch kit - fitted with 2 years warranty in my old Mondeo TDCI. Shop around

FWIW the same place wanted 800 for a solid conversion

Parts arent that expensive if you shop around! That was nationwide, as a kwik fit type chain they dont have the best reputation but I know the exeter branch are pretty good. A gearbox specialist quoted me just under 700 too - the general concensus on the Mondeo forums is you should aim for 700 fitted

Because a certain miserable troll didnt believe me last time I brought it up, I scanned the invoice for him...

Yeah checked the ebay link and called and it will cost me an extra 40-50 pound on top to post it here. Same with the website


From the eurocarparts site, you need to order it all in 3 different parts as well.

So over all, i might only save around 50-70 pound, so might as well just get it in NI
