360 "slim" and natal to be called Kinect?

Wow out of the blue, a new 360 arrives! So as I have a 4yr old 20GB and very loud 360 I thought I would treat myself! Pre ordered acheievement obtained. Looking forward to it, it will be quiet, I can remove a lead from the lead snake pit behind the TV! and the kids can have their own 360 to play.

I asked about the price of this kinect thingy and the chap in the shop was not sure but he said it could be around £100 - £150.

I have not seen the vids or read about it, but he said it is foing to be a great piece of kit.

Personally the jury will be out until some decent games are released, but Ihave no doubt that this will appeal to the family more than the hardcore gamers amongst you.

I prefer a feedback wheel when driving, and the feel of a trigger under my fingers. Still time will tell and if it gets the wife moving and gaming it cant be bad. price wise - way to expensive for my taste, espeically after dropping£200 on an xbox toplay the same games!

Give the 360 a browser and I can bin my PC!

I wonder bundles they will offer!

Can you i magine a Kinect media browser on the XBox with you controlling the navigation 'Minority Report' style with just gestures? And it recognising each user, so they all automatically have their own preferences/favourites etc :)

But this does bring me back to an earlier point/issue, that I've not seen in in an Natal (Kinect) videos a controller being used too? Because in the above scenario, you'd definately want to use a controller too!

Well, a little late after my earlier statement but I've just placed my pre-order for one of these. Looking forward to it.

That puts us up to 4 Xbox 360's in our house lol (and no, not a single one is modified).
 
I'm beginning to think that the old style one they had on stage was larger somehow as it looks impossible to fit the slim inside the old one judging by those photos!

The list of 'stuff' I want this year is huge..

1. PS3 Slim for the front room + Move
2. 360 + Kinect for the front room
3. 3D Projector for the front room
4. Racing cockpit to allow me to use my steering wheel in the front room on the 3D projector with GT5..

I wish I could remotely think of an iPhone 4.. will have to keep my Hero until next year at this rate..

Off topic, but you say iPhone 4G ? I have my iPhone 4 ordered which is set to be delivered on the 24th, but it's an iPhone 4.. Not 4g and it only runs on 3G.

I'm in the USA, so just wondering if England is getting a better model? In which case i'll be gutted !
 
It commonly being referred to as the 4G as it is the 4th gen iPhone.

And i am not in England, so wouldn't know what they are getting :p

Nope..

As good as married (19 years together), + 2 kids, a cat.. Hence why if I get 2 of those 4 this year, I'll consider myself damn lucky.. I already have a 1080p Projector, so would upgrade, which I think will cost less then getting a 46-50" 3D TV..

I've been ebaying and wheeler dealing, but keep all my profit for my own toys, it's just how we do it, I don't impact on the normal family budgets, and we all enjoy watching movies, playing on the Wii at times..

Looks very nice in my opinion. Sly controller colour scheme change also. They will be rolling those out for an extra five quid I reckon.
 
No wonder Microsoft won't be marketing this as the Xbox 360 Slim, it's almost exactly the same width, a couple inches shorter and pretty much the same depth as the original 360's. Still a nice little console and if I hadn't bought a PS3 250GB in January then I may have been tempted by this, especially as it has Wifi built in.
