Anyone see this quote from Helen Mirren on some US chat show?
Stupid bint.
I can't believe she said that, as you said, stupid stupid bint. I don't actually care what she said about the football but she's just utterly clueless about the situation
i dont think hes anti-british. i just think hes very angry over this oil leak.
i mean bp first said 5000 barrels were leaking in the first few days but they obviusly lied because we know for a fact it is 40,000.
i think hes right to be angry especially since it is damaging the wildlife a lot and the beaches.

dont get me rong i myself am not a supporter of america for reasons i will not tell here, but you must see this situation from his point of view.
He might be angry but its an AMERICAN owned oil rig that broke because HIS government let it relax safety standards, so if he's angry its HIS fault, so still no reason to blame ONLY BP or call it british petroleum when its a largely American owned company or when he KNOWS it will hurt the UK economy heavily and as a by product his own economy. BP is part of the FTSE 100 so its incredibly important, his own stock market has taken a hit since BP's been taking, he's irresponsible and flat out stupid for making the comments which are completely incorrect.
As for an accurate estimate of whats coming out, I think its highly likely a broken pipe with cracks in it will have had cracks further out than the hole and its also likely the hole would have widened for a while after the leak started, 5k barrels isn't necessarily inaccurate, it may simply have started there, likewise its also very hard to quantify how much of a liquid is coming out, miles down. We know now as we can see it on the surface and guesstimate a pretty accurate answer aswell as having camera's watching the spill, none of that was available in the first few days.
To be fair, he hasn't exactly had an easy run of it. Bush couldn't have left a worse legacy for the next guy if he'd of tried!
ACtually he had a very good legacy, in so far as what he needed to do to help the economy and fix the country was clear as day. Cameron/Clegg aren't going to be popular eventually with cuts to everything but its whats required. The problem is Cameron/Clegg equivilent to Obama's position would be instead of making cuts, trying to introduce the largest public spending policy of our history, while the country is almost bankrupt and on the brink of a proper depression rather than a mini recession we borrowed our way out of.
People are unhappy with Obama as almost every one of his policies was a lie, he's followed through with nothing, his healthcare plan is neutered and will still cost a bomb and push the deficit up which is killing their economy. Meanwhile, he's done pretty much entirely nothing useful in his time in charge except doing things like winning nobel prizes for pulling out of a war that started before he got in charge, and hasn't actually finished yet, while increasing numbers in another war.
Obama had one required goal when he got in charge, bring the deficit under control, get rid of as much anti gay, anti -everything else legislation the republicans put in as possible and do everything possible to reduce the risk of a recession/depression. He's done everything opposite, democrats have the right morality, but the Labour type idea of big government and massive public spending which bankrupts countries. ITs exactly what the USA doesn't need right now.
