How to be polite to old busy bodies?

KaHn there's no right answer here, you just have to use your judgement and listen to your conscience.

If it was me, I would carry on and ignore anyone except the police.

Oh please don't see this as a "Was I right thread" it was more of how would other people deal with the situation, I am quite happy with how I dealt with it and tbh short of me letting Max off his lead and shouting "Get her" the police wouldn't take any notice apart from a "chat" if she whinges lots and lots.

I was just brought up to be polite to elders and always try to keep my cool but I was more shocked than anything when the women ran from 30m+ to tell me to pick dog hair up and call me a disgrace.

She had a point but she didn't even try and be nice about it. And if theres one thing I can't stand it's people without the common courtesy to ask nicely first.

This means war, collect all the dogs hair, wrap a dog turd in it and post through her letterbox. ;)
Or better yet just pick the dog up and teach it how to crap through her letterbox.
