Asus rampage III Extreme

I'd just like to point out that the extra space between each card has helped keep the GPU temps lower :)

At 1000 Mhz, my 5770s stay at 78-80 degrees with just 65% fan speed, before they got a lot hotter than that.

I love the red and black theme of that mobo shame amd boards dont look like the same

edit: scratch that just saw the crosshair

Indeed, they look awesome with the reference ATI HD 5000 cards :)

You don't, my 920 runs at 4 ghz stable w/ just 1 8 pin.

So anyone know yet why I would need the extra 8?

Same reason you have it it on the EVGA classified. To allow the cpu to use up to 200watts for extreme overclocking. Something which 99% people don't need.

For those of you having the 4GB only being detected out of 6GB RAM...

For the first time in about 2 months that I have had this board I booted it up only to find that 4 out of 6GB of my RAM was detected. I tested each stick and slot individually, all worked fine. I then did a cold boot, still 4GB, powered on again, 6GB, and it's working fine again... what the hell? It's obviously a BIOS bug anyway, so those having problems I wouldn't worry too much about it, should get patched fingers crossed :).

Huh. I am testing my ram today as i thought the ram was a bit dodgy. I have heard a few people including myself having the same problem with the dominator gt ram. Will find out today if its the ram but due to the number of people having the same problem im guessing its the bios version of the board. Not that it matters because im sure my board is already dead. Is this board any good for my current setup, as im told its new?

this might seem out there ? but ive been doin a lot of research and its been said that when you cannot detect the ram or have instability, RESEAT THE CPU. its worked for a lot of ppl. give it a try and let me know how it goes for u

Hi

Can anyone that has a similar setup as mine please give me some guidance on what bios settings should be set at and enabled or disabled for best stable overclock on this board from the bios template below???

Thanks for responding.

Also along the same lines - sometimes if you are using a w/cool block you can overtighten it, which can also cause these problems - try loosening off a touch.Would imagine this also applies to some high end air coolers with bolt through systems.

Hi

Can someone please answer my question above???

Thank You!

Gives me a nice 4ghz OC with ram running 7-7-7-18-1N at 1900mhz and decent temps. Ill pump it higher when I watercool it but its fine for now.

Quite happy with my board! :) Received it last week but today is the first day I've had the system up and running. Overclocking is a breeze.

I have my i7-930 running 4.2GHz @ 1.26v reaching max. 64°C (IntelBurnTest) with a NH-D14. I had it at 4.4GHz but with temps getting closer to 70°C, I said I'd stick with 4.2.
