Any Fabia vRS owners?

Where have I stated that I want budget motoring?

I dont know about you but I'd consider a diesel hatchback and saying 'low tax' kinda suggests its what you are after.

If it isn't, then great, but buy something else.

Doubtless you'll buy something else anyway, you've wanted to buy pretty much every car around in the last 2 months. How we get from considering a 1998 328i to a 2006 Skoda diesel I don't know.

I find it hard to believe the Fabia vRS weighs 1.3 tons when the identical car underneath the 1.9 TD Ibiza is quoted as 1142kg and has a better built interior.

I lifted the figures from Parkers, no idea if they are correct.

Don't forget the RX8!

Where have I considered an e36 328?

I also stated in the first instance that the fact it was Diesel / cheaper tax were not huge considerations, merely bonuses of a car that was acceptable.

Oh yea, I forgot about that. Lets sell the Focus to release capital and buy a 330i, no wait lets get an RX8, then keeping the Focus, now maybe selling the Focus, lets sell the Yaris and get a 328i no wait lets get a Mondeo we've got a Mondeo oh we've had it 3 weeks and its a bit old now so lets get a £7500 Skoda diesel with low tax but we dont want a budget car...

...and people wonder why certain individuals raise so many questions whenever they post!

You toyed with the idea of an S plate E46 328i as a replacement for the Yaris, I beleive.

Why should it need to raise questions? I'm simply indecisive (RX8 aside, where the other half threw her toys out the pram to avoid).

I see the vRS option slated over and over again, yet I see no better suggestions.

Surely the earliest E46 is 99? I/We are not like you, we do not have a set of criteria nearly as specific as you or some others on here, which is why such a range of cars can be considered. You also have the bare in mind where I live, having no motorways or long trips makes a difference to the cars worth considering also.

Well its wrong.
It must be. A 150bhp diesel Leon will get to 160 km/h in under 24 seconds, so I can't believe it takes 20 seconds for a 530i to reach that speed.
Unless it's an auto not in sport mode uphill, 5 up.
