android market help

I am about *this* close to buying an htc desire, but i have discovered something that could be a dealbreaker and see me heading for the new iphone (currently on an iphone 3g)

the marketplace- no paid apps available in ireland! what the hell?!

is there a way around this stupid restriction?

i mean...its all interwebz based, so it should be able to work here....right? i assume its some pointless irish government bs (bloody Fianna Fáil! *grumble*) thats causing the delay.

i dont mind if rooting etc is required, as i was planning to do this anyways.

note im not looking for how to pirate apps at all, i just want to know if i can get the android app store to sell me paid apps!

I watched a youtube vid earlier with someone not being able to buy from the android market

He rooted his phone, and installed a network changer, which allowed him to connect through T-mobile, then all the apps were there, free + pay for

can you not just download the apps off android market to pc then install them on phone using htc sync?

nope, you can only download direct to the phone, what a stupid thing though, and no wonder there are lots of torrents on demonoid for android apps.
