Need for Speed - Hot Pursuit Trailer

That trailer and gameplay look really good IMO
I can remember playing the first Hot Pursuit game years ago :)

The multiplayer was always interesting being the cop
 
Is that a new hot persuit in the video?

My personal favourite was Need for Speed 2 SE on 3dfx then Hot Persuit closely followed by Underground and NFSIII. Underground 1 was the last one that was good.

If they managed to combine something like Hot Persuit and Flatout 2 then would be onto a definate winner
 
within 30 seconds of Craig Sullivan from Criterion being on stage "We knew we wanted to do one thing......take it back to its roots"

I those boys pull it off and make it as good as it looks, i will drive to Guildford and give them cake and hugs personally!

Can you imagine EA doing that now? Taking the time and resources to hire supercars (including one of a kind concepts like the Cala and Nazca C2), narrated commentary on tracks and vehicles etc?

Ah, those were the days...

I reckon a Bugatti Police car isn't too far, most games have much more outrageous things in them. As long as the game is fun, that's what counts, NFS was never supposed to be like real life, only in visuals.
 
For me underground was the best, the police chases were good and I liked the freedom of taking the chase where you wanted, racing was good too.

The original hot pursuit was good though, I remember playing 2 player and outrunning the police as for the new one and the old, there closed tracks which means it sort of a race against police rather than a police chase, I liked the freedom that I could create my own police chase and choose where I wanted to go (underground) also the demo they showed of 2 player versus, one cop one criminal was pretty poor, it is effectively a race as there is no other A.I cop cars involved part from a few blockades.

So under the hood of the whole police chase thing it's effectively just another crappy racer. MEH

The original had Lamborghini, Jaguar etc police cars... even concept car police cars :p
 
Gona say, the box shots on my pc copies of nfs3 both feature police driving corvettes.

Not exactly bugati, granted, but supercars non the less.

The e3 video reminded me of chase hq for some reason. Just hope there's a little bit more to the game, it's good, but that gets old fast.

I consider that to be hollywood, a several million pound police car? Not so much.
