Blur - worth buying?

Got this yesterday, I think it's great, it managed to keep my attention all night and didn't get boring. Online is great fun, albeit hectic with 20 cars

I must admit out of the two demos I preferred Split/Second and that's what I'll be getting once I've finished RDR. Something about Blur seemed a little dull to me - I can't put my finger on it really. I didn't think much of the PGR games either, though, so take from that what you will. I did enjoy the Club, however. :p

edit: And for those who thought Split/Second was boring "after one race", you really need a few races to see its potential. For example, you won't see all of the routes on any given track with just one race. It's different every time.

Just an FYI, bizarrely (see what I did there) they have disabled the in-game soundtrack by default, you have to back into the options and enable it, I wondered where the music was when I was racing.

the game hasnt sold very well overall - generally its been a disappointment.
Cant say i was surprised the beta clearly showed it had its limits and once youv played a few races youv played them all.

if your going to create a racer like this it should have been released at a budget price point, or even xbl/psn and have smaller dlc aspects to it.

you cant hang what is effectively a short to the point mp racer like this in a £40 game box as it does often feel like it should have been an xbla game.

I will be trading this in today , the game just frustrates me and I no longer enjoy playing it :( . For those still wondering , do not buy it.

I had fun with this on the beta. But grew tired of it when every race consists of collecting powerups, there is no real racing, and the vehicles pretty much all handle the same.

Found this game too frustrating. There's no real bonus to driving well and it's insanely annoying when you drive really well in 1st place for most of the laps only to get hit with a couple of power ups and see everyone zoom by.

I think the give away may have been it being called "powered up racing". :)

I've been having a lot of fun with this online, and makes a change to have a decent 4 player split screen racing game.

It's fun online in my opinion. It's one of those games that you just pick-up when you're bored of everything else.

You can't really moan about getting pipped at the post by somebody using power ups, that is sort of the general idea of the game. The skill comes in having the right power-ups are the right time I guess :)

Can anyone who plays this on Xbox give me an idea of how many online players there are in the evening? On PS3, it's about 700.

Yes - always have a shield in your mod bay. ;)
